Mentoring Guide
Hooray, your application has been approved! …Now what? Now comes mentoring! Once your forum application is approved, you will be admitted into the guild on something of a trial basis. In order to remain in the guild, you must complete the mentoring process successfully. If your mentoring sessions go unsuccessfully, then you’ll be removed from the guild. But that won’t happen, because you’re cool!
Mentoring involves completing a few rather simple tasks. As a new, trial member, you will be required to participate in 3 roleplaying sessions and 3 dungeon runs with Eire mentors. The roleplaying sessions are to make sure you have an idea of our roleplaying style, that you have proper grammar and reasonable spelling skills, and that you fit within our guild. The dungeon runs are designed to teach you how runs in our guild work – we believe in teamwork over just looking out for yourself, so if you aren’t used to that, we’ll have to guide you, hence the term mentoring.
The mentors with which you interact will keep notes and discuss with each other and the officers your strengths and weaknesses. If, after completing your dungeons and RP, you show no signs of improvement in your skills, then the officers may decide to remove you from the guild. We’re looking for people who can easily adapt and thrive within our guild, and if you can’t get the hang of it, then we’ll unfortunately have to part ways.
From the time you’re admitted into the guild, you have 30 days to complete your mentoring completely. If, after 30 days, you have not completed mentoring, you will be removed from the guild. Finding a mentor to work with is your responsibility; if you’re logged in with nothing else to do, just ask on guild chat if a mentor is available for you to harass.
After reviewing your mentoring experience, the officers will inform you of your fate. Don’t stress out too much, though. It may sound daunting, but if you just relax and embrace your character and make an effort to learn, then you’ll do fine!
